Keasyikan pengguna-pengguna Facebook melayan kuiz dan permainan, di samping sembang bual yang pada masa ini jumlah warga jaringan Malaysia mencecah lebih 800,000 orang, boleh menghasilkan suatu ketagihan seperti apa yang pernah menimpa pengguna perkhidmatan chatting MiRC suatu ketika dahulu. Tambahan lagi, dengan kemudahan akses Facebook melalui telefon bimbit, tahap ketagihan itu bisa jadi melampau dan merosakkan.
Dalam keadaan seperti ini, keharusan menggunakan Facebook boleh bertukar menjadi HARAM ke atas individu yang menyalahgunakan Facebook hingga berlaku kelalaian di tahap yang ekstrim.
Firman Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’aala:

“Telah nyatalah kejayaan para Mukmin. Iaitu mereka yang di dalam solat mereka, khusyu’ mendirikannya. Dan mereka itu terhadap perkara-perkara yang melalaikan, mereka menghindarkannya” [al-Mu'minun 23: 1-3]

Apa yang menjadi larangan bukanlah Facebook sebagai medium. Tetapi larangan itu terkena ke atas individu yang gagal mengawal dirinya hingga sesuatu yang asalnya begitu bermanfaat berubah menjadi mudarat akibat lemah daya mengawal dan membuat pilihan.

Dalam masa yang sama juga beberapa konsep akhlaq perlu diberikan penjelasan dalam konteks etika melayari internet serta menggunakan aplikasi yang kedapatan, termasuk email dan Facebook.
